Locksmith in Oklahoma City Who Answers the Phone
Family owned, Edmond based, working the whole metro. Rekeying, lockouts, car keys and commercial hardware. Free estimates, and the price you are quoted on the phone is the price on the invoice.
What we do
Residential, Commercial and Automotive
Three kinds of work, one licensed locksmith. Most calls come in as one of the items below, and each one links to a page that explains it properly.
Residential
For homeowners, renters and landlords across the metro.
- Rekeying after a move or a lost key
- Lockouts, opened without damage
- Deadbolts and strike reinforcement
- Smart locks, fitted to latch properly
- Break in repair
Commercial
For business owners and property managers who need a building handled, not just a door.
- Whole building rekeys
- Master key systems
- Panic bars and exit devices
- Access control
- High security locks
Automotive
Keys cut and programmed at the vehicle. No tow to the dealer.
- Car lockouts
- Key replacement, including all keys lost
- Transponder and fob programming
- When the dealer is the better call
How we work
Four Things We Will Not Do
Most locksmith sites tell you what they offer. A list of what a business refuses to do tells you more.
-
01
Change the price at the door
The figure quoted before dispatch is the figure on the invoice. If something unexpected turns up, you are told and asked before work continues, not surprised afterwards.
-
02
Sell you locks you do not need
If rekeying solves it, that is what gets quoted, even though replacement would be worth more to us. Most people who call have been told they need new locks. Most of them do not.
-
03
Open a door without checking
Proof of ownership or residency before any lock is opened or any key is cut, every time. A locksmith who skips this for you will skip it for whoever asks about your property next.

Claim to be 24/7
Hours are 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, seven days a week. Outside that, response is limited and you are told plainly whether tonight or tomorrow morning is realistic.
Who you are calling
One Locksmith, Not a Dispatcher
Local, affordable, and building a relationship with the customer. That is the whole business. I would rather be the locksmith someone calls back in three years than the one who made an extra fifty dollars once. Eran Bar-Yamin, Owner
C&R Locksmith has been family owned and run out of Edmond since 2018, with about a decade of hands on trade experience behind it. There is no call center and no technician you have never spoken to. The person who quotes the job is the person who turns up to do it, and the one who is accountable if it goes wrong.
That structure decides most of what is on this site: the pricing, the hours, and the insistence on checking who you are before a door gets opened. More about the business.
Where we work
Serving the OKC Metro From Edmond
Oklahoma City covers a lot of ground. These are the cities we work in regularly. A trip fee may apply past a set distance, and you are told the number before we roll.
Before you call anyone
How to Tell a Real Locksmith From a Call Center
The pattern has not changed in twenty years. A quote far below everyone else, no license number, and a price that triples once someone is standing at your door. Ninety seconds of questions defeats almost all of it.
Read the full guide to spotting a locksmith scam, and how Oklahoma licensing works.
- Ask for the license number. Oklahoma licenses locksmiths through the Department of Labor. Hesitation is your answer.
- Ask for the business name. A generic greeting means a call center that sells your job on to a stranger.
- Ask if the quote is the total. Callout, labour and parts. A figure that covers only the callout is the hook.
- Expect to be asked for ID. A locksmith who does not check is one who will open your door for the next person too.
- Be wary of drilling suggested early. Drilling should be a last resort. Proposed before the lock is examined, it means a replacement is being sold.
Common questions
What People Ask Before They Call
Are you available 24 hours?
No, and we would rather say so than have you find out at midnight. Hours are 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, seven days a week, and most metro jobs are handled the same day. Outside those hours response is limited and you are told plainly whether tonight or first thing tomorrow is realistic.
How much does it cost?
You get a firm figure on the phone before anyone drives out, and that figure is what you pay. Estimates are free. The details that decide it are the door count, the type of lock, and for a car the year, make and model. See what drives locksmith pricing.
Should I rekey or replace my locks?
Rekey, in most cases. It changes which key works while leaving sound hardware on the door, and it costs considerably less. Replacement makes sense when the lock is worn, damaged, or was never adequate for an exterior door. See rekey versus replace.
Can you make a car key with no key at all?
On most vehicles yes, at the car, without a tow. It takes longer than cutting a spare and proof of ownership is required first. Some manufacturers restrict programming to dealers and some very new models are not yet supported, which you are told on the phone before any callout.
Do you have a shop I can come to?
No. C&R is a mobile locksmith based in Edmond that travels to the property, which is why there is no street address on this site. Nothing needs to be taken off your door and brought anywhere.
Are you licensed?
Yes. Oklahoma requires locksmiths to be licensed through the Department of Labor, and C&R holds license A465149. Ask any locksmith for a number before they come out.
Talk to the Owner
One number, answered by the person who does the work. Locked out right now, call. Planning something, the form takes a minute.
